Sanje Trail Ascent to the Waterfall Crest

6 Kilometers 3 - 4 Hours Canopy Campsite

Meet your specialized park guide and porters at the park headquarters. Begin your hike up the steep, winding Sanje Trail through the dense rainforest interior. Keep your eyes on the ancient tree canopies to spot the rare Sanje Mangabey and Iringa Red Colobus monkeys. Reach the top of the waterfall crest by afternoon, where your crew will set up your tents. Fall asleep to the roar of the water, sleeping directly below the forest canopy.

180m Water Drop Plunge Pool Swim Valley Descent

Wake up to a fresh jungle breakfast cooked by your team. Walk out to the spectacular 180-meter water drop vantage point to look out across the misty Kilombero sugarcane valleys far below. Hike down to the base of the tiers to enjoy cold, refreshing plunge pool wilderness swims in the natural stone basins. After swimming and a picnic lunch, complete your forest descent back to the park gate for your return transport.
