Mount Kilimanjaro National Park is located in Tanzania, East Africa
Mount Kilimanjaro is the tallest mountain in Africa, standing at 5,895 meters (19,341 feet) above sea level. It is a dormant volcano and is one of the most iconic natural landmarks on the continent.
The main attraction is, of course, the mountain itself, offering various trekking routes to its summit. Additionally, the park boasts diverse flora and fauna, including unique ecosystems such as rainforests, moorlands, and alpine deserts.
The nearest major airport is Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), located approximately 46 kilometers (29 miles) east of Arusha. From there, it’s common for visitors to arrange transportation to the town of Moshi or directly to the park entrance.
There are several trekking routes to the summit, each varying in length, difficulty, and scenery. Popular routes include the Marangu Route, Machame Route, Lemosho Route, and Rongai Route.
